Farm Wagon Odds and Ends

May 2009

The superlative! 29 children in the photo on the farm wagon with Miss Wilma (van Asperen).

Nice tile farm wagon early 18th century. Right foot pole on the curve and with the left foot was inhibited. Clearly visible are the scales on the krankwerk. On unpaved roads were the sounds comes around you.. >

Summer 2003

All cozy in the Farmer Wagon. The family De Vaal from Nieuw Lekkerland. The car comes from Molenaarsgraaf built around 1920, type. Striking how many people fit into a farm wagon. >

< A small prayer card from the early 1600's, from the time of the Reformation. There are a number of 16 ministers in cars removed from Dordrecht. With or without hood. The print is too small for details, but we see 3 open wagons and covered wagons with two retractable side. For the second car, the fourth and fifth wagon, three horses strained. Very special, this should be investigated further!

The picture of the wheelwright. At the top we see a three leaf clover contraction for a farm wagon with curved shaft. Then that way you ride it even if very old! >

< Very rare tile picture from 1790. Wealthy farmer goes to market with pockets, or are they wavy stitch learning? He drive in this case pairs and curved shaft and very rare, a triangular spot. The horses do not wear eye patches (blinkers) while around 1500 have emerged.

Krijn van Zee Nieuwland in his smithy / workshop Meerkerk. The last farm wagon blacksmith, who knows more about farm wagon ironwork. A man with a passion for his profession, great!! >

< Jan van Asperen at the reins with Adrie Stam from 's-Gravendeel with Fortune, a 12-year-old Groninger horse. Year of the farm wagon was made by January 1974 and Peet and was owned by GJ Verhoeven. Summer 2008. It was a beautiful drive of ± 35 km near Brielle. The car is very solid wooden shafts and drive. It remains a spectacular event, driving the old Dutch farmer and they drive super cars. Hard to imagine a car of almost 500 kg.
